About Us

A home away from a dental clinic.
Natalie charman 014

It all starts with a warm and caring welcome.

Our front desk team, led by practice manager Natalie (known as Nat to everyone), will make sure you feel welcome from your very first phone call all the way up to stepping in the front door.

Nat and the team are warm, engaging, remember the little things about our patients, and treat them like friends – some of whom we have watched grow up over the last 20 years.

A non-clinical clinic?
Spacious with lots of natural light

Shepherds Hill Dental Centre doesn’t have that dry ‘old-style’ clinical and sterile feel. It is more like someone’s home with warm tapestries, artwork on the walls and a water feature.

Envisage large picture windows looking out to a beautiful private garden with lots of natural light and a calming sense of space – and this is from our dental chair! You can even enjoy a movie with our video glasses we have on offer.

Natalie, our practice manager, has known some of our patients for over 20 years.

In this way, our practice is a relaxing place for anyone who is a bit of a dental-phobe, has had a bad experience at the dentist or gets anxious at the thought of a dental visit. It is also great for kids and their parent’s alike.

Our famed Big Red Treasure Box

We are proud that our big red Treasure Box has become a bit famous over the years. Even though it is filled with little goodies for the kids after their appointment, we still have some 20 and 30 year old patients who want to look in the red box, just as they did when they were kids.

Your experience is not just about the
space – a gentle dentist team

Every step of the way through your visit we all pride ourselves in treating
you with integrity, care and excellence.

We want you to feel like you are visiting a friend every 6 months. Our dentists and hygienists aim to give you the very best in dental treatments whilst empowering you become a partner in your long-term dental health.

Dr Renee Ashby and Dr Tharaka Narayana give you all the options, alternatives and information that you need to make a confident and well informed decision about the dental treatment that is best for you.

Specialist services – all in one place

Specialist dental services are also available in our practice with Surgical Dentist Dr Ryan Cornish. This means that our patients who require specialist services won’t have to travel across town to another practice, instead enjoying these services in the comfort of a practice they already know.

FAQs

Dr Tharaka Narayana replies:

Yes, you possibly could, but it’s best to come in for a dental check-up to determine this for sure.

Gingivitis is very prevalent. Many of us will experience this condition – mild inflammation of the gum – at least once in our lives.

Getting on top of it with preventive dental care is important in making sure it doesn’t progress to periodontal disease – which, worst case scenario, can result in someone losing their teeth.
